Direct Show for Video

Hello,

I would like to know if it is possible to apply a directshow filter on a video file. I have seen you demo, looks like you cracked the code for applying a filter on the audio. Just curios if you have written the code for the video part.

Please let me know.

Hi, yes you can. Take a look into AVI project where there is an AviSourceSpliter that, similar to other source filter, reads streams from URI or Stream. Unfortunately it isn't complete: it supports only RGBA and WAV streams and doesn't support indexes yet. However the main problem is to decode compressed packets with a video decoding filter.

ricciolo thanks for the response.

I took a look at the AVI project Looks like you have silverlight page which implements the AviSourceSpliter, I was not able to open any avi video files. Do you have a sample avi file which works with avi splitter. I like the sample audio wav files you had. Also is there any tool which converts any avi or a wmv file to a RGBA format.

Thanks,
